We moved last August to this Calgary house, and I am now discovering all kinds of strange plants (weeds??) in my garden beds. One of them I can confirm is a blue delphinium, as I saw it blooming late last summer, before a wind storm took it out. Not too far away in the bed is what appears to be a delphinium-type leaf emerging, but it appears to have spread from the original plant? Has anyone heard of a creeping delph/larkspur? If so, I would like to nip it in the bud, as it won't likely do well under a mature evergreen, and the wind will kill it anyway (there is no way to support that kind of tall plant). If it's not that, I might want to keep it, but I don't want to fight with it all summer. All suggestions are welcome! Thanks!!
