May is half over now, are your gardens looking beautiful yet? I expect so in some areas. May is such a wonderful month - the month of hope! We hope all our babies have overwintered, we hope for another good year of gardening, we hope the new plants we will be planting soon in their new homes will produce a fine crop of flowers or vegetables and we hope we don't get any pests this year! Gardens come alive in May and there are events happening...check our calendar to see what is going on in your area. Manitoba Orchid Society Meeting, Scarborough Garden Society/Plant Sale, Huge Plant Sale in Selkirk, Carp Garden Tour, Herbal Teas & Chocolate Therapy Workshop, Heritage Gardeners/ Greening Nipissing Rain Barrel Sale, North Bay Heritage Gardeners Plant Sale, Spring Plant Sale in Hantsport NS, Peterborough Horticultural Society Meeting, Private Paradise- Elsie Refords Lily Garden at the internationally renowned Jardins des Metis. Alexander Reford lectures on his grandmother's garden on the shores of the St. Lawrence in Quebec- an international 'must-see'garden. The TBG also has many events planned PLUS a lot more so stay up with the latest and if your event is not listed get it on up...it's free and great exposure.
